In the midst of our daily struggles we have hope of seeing change.
God arms us with hope and courage to persevere though trials.
Let’s try to encourage one another to keep on keeping on.
Perhaps you are feeling battle-scarred, weary and worn out by life’s challenges.
Too much may be happening at once or long-term struggles can render us weak and discouraged.
If that describes you, my friend, then the poem below is for you.
And my hope and prayer is that you will feel less alone in the fight.
We are surrounded by a host of witnesses that have gone before us.
We are able to rest secure in knowing God sees the bigger picture.
He gives us strength to cope for one more day..and the next… and so on.
Not giving up
Limping and wounded I may be
but I’m not giving up on my destiny
though it’s a war zone, battle, a fight
life is still filled with God’s radiant Light
His word my compass, eternity my goal
hope keeps faith stirred up in my soul

You’re right, this is a war zone with many wounded. Glad there are people like you to lift limping spirits. Nice, Joy.
Yes, it’s sad but true, Anne. We all need support and encouragement to keep going. And as one of the wounded warriors I hope to help others along in their journey of faith.
This poem is especially for me today! I am experiencing the worst flare-up in eight years and can only glory in our Pappa’s power that is made perfect only in weakness. I hope you are doing better, dear friend.
Much love XX
Oh, Mia, I am so sorry to hear how much you are struggling right now. We need supernatural supplies of strength and endurance when our own are so depleted. Praying that you will find grace to help in time of need as God wraps His arms of love around you to hold you safe through this storm. Yes, His power is made perfect in our weakness, but how we long to feel well and strong! I am better than I was a few weeks ago, praise God. And I pray you will soon be able to look back and trace His enabling and equipping through your pain. Much love Xx
“Not giving up on my destiny” is an awesome line , battle scarred and worn thou we may be we need not give up . God gives strength for each new day to encourage us to step up and out once again . This really spoke to me Joy, you have such amazing insight at times it like you are sitting across from my table, sharing a chat and offering a word to me. Wounded need as much encouragement as they can get at times along with some rest to be restore and go on in the knowledge “we are reaching our destiny” You are a breathe of fresh air to me to today, I love calling by here, to encourage you too.
Thank you, Maxine, for stopping by to encourage me with your comment! I’m honoured if God has granted me words and insight that have helped you. As you so rightly say, wounded people “need as much encouragement as they can get”. And deep down, we are all wounded in one way or another.
Words of encouragement! Thank you Joy! These are the promise words I took with me today… “His word my compass, eternity my goal
hope keeps faith stirred up in my soul”!
I am so thankful for my “compass” although like everything else, it needs maintaining ~ keeping it oiled with His promises and praying for forgiveness, keeping it clean from sin. Thank God for His mercy! Joy your writing always blesses my heart! 🙂 xx
Thanks, Kathy! I’m also truly grateful for God’s mercy. And I really appreciate you encouraging me with your lovely comment. Blessings Xx
