‘Close’
Sometimes I..
feel quite lost, isolated and alone
despite having a loving husband,
family and friends to call my own
Deep down there is a space, a place
no one can really fill, where
tears are cried and often spill
Because we..
are built for sharing and community
yet feel afraid of others knowing
the ugly truth and full reality
of who we are and how we feel
inside, so we tend to pull and
shy away, conceal and hide
But you..
have a way of penetrating
the deep recesses of our heart
seeing all we are and can be,
understanding every part
Coming closer than a whispered prayer,
a breath exhaled, as you draw near
So please..
be here and
stay close to me
just as you have promised
you will be

Thank you for taking the trouble to read and leave a sweet comment, Keren! I know your energy and focus are limited and I really appreciate it. Bless you, friend. 🙂 xx
Oh Joy! That was lovely. I could completely relate to your words. As much as I may display…there is still so much I conceal. Thankfully, Jesus is fully aware and there. Dropping by today from FMF. I really enjoyed your poem.
Hi Kelly. I’m so pleased this spoke to you. We have much to be thankful for because Jesus knows us inside out and nothing is concealed to Him. As you say, He is “fully aware and there.” Thanks very much for stopping by. It’s lovely to meet you! God bless. 🙂
Very easy to relate to those feelings, Joy. So glad that God has promised to always be near. Thanks for reminding us of that. 🙂
Angela, I echo your words of being, “so glad that God has promised to always be near” as that makes all the difference in this world and the next. Bless you for stopping by, friend. 🙂
Beautiful poem and prayer. It is so comforting the way God sees us even when we just want to hide.
Yes, we can draw a lot of comfort from those thoughts, Paula. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a lovely comment! God bless you, friend. 🙂 x
